Join us on the Road to Food Security!
The Vermont Food Security Coalition exists to achieve food security in Vermont by 2035, following the goals, objectives, and strategies of the Vermont Food Security Roadmap to 2035 (the Roadmap).
The Roadmap was developed over two years and involved over 600 contributing Vermonters. In 2024, seven organizations who contributed to the Roadmap formalized the Coalition and committed to work together on the road to food security.

The Coalition welcomes organizations as Allies or Members. Organizations include, but are not limited to, structures such as LLCs, networks, grassroots entities, and more. At this time, we do not have a formal role for individuals in the Coalition. However, many of our member organizations welcome individuals as members, volunteers, and advocates.
Allies
Coalition Allies are organizations that publicly support the Roadmap goals, objectives, and/or strategies. Ally organizations are interested in sharing information and participating on Roadmap issues related to their organization’s work, as feasible and strategic for their capacity and mission.
To become an Ally, organizations sign an organizational statement of support and fill out a questionnaire about their areas of interest related to the Roadmap. Allies receive Coalition updates, and will be contacted with opportunities to partner on aligning issues.

Members
Coalition Members are champions of the Roadmap. We work closely together, advocating for one another’s shared work. We collectively develop and implement annual and multi-year priorities for action based on Roadmap recommendations. Action areas include policy, training, pilot projects, and other initiatives.
Membership is a high level of commitment best suited to organizations whose mission, strategy, and personnel are inherently aligned with Roadmap objectives and strategies.
Member organizations meaningfully contribute to the advancement of the Coalition’s Roadmap priorities. Member organizations might not work on advancing every objective or strategy of the Roadmap, depending on their organizational missions and priorities, but they do commit significant personnel, resources (financial or other), and strategic thinking and action to the Coalition.
Members apply to join the Coalition and agree to shared principles, commitments, and accountability.
